Regularly Scheduled Server Maintenance

Southeastern IT performs regularly scheduled server maintenance each month on the Friday immediately following Microsoft’s ‘Patch Tuesday’. Therefore, regularly scheduled server maintenance will occur on the Friday immediately following the second Tuesday of each month from 5 PM until 10 PM CST (unless otherwise noted). During this regularly scheduled maintenance period, many campus IT services will be interrupted. It is strongly encouraged that the campus community plan for this regularly scheduled server maintenance with the thought in mind that IT services will be interrupted. IT services that could be interrupted include: e-mail, internet, file servers, DPS, POISE, Blackboard, student file server, VPN services, CampusConnect, Self-Service, and other Colleague-related systems.

It is also important to note that not all of the listed IT services will be interrupted each month, nor will an interrupted service necessarily be down for the entire maintenance period. However, it is strongly recommended that the campus community plan for the potential downtime of any listed service for the duration of the maintenance period.
