This excerpt from the ACRL Standards for Distance Learning Library Services is the Access Entitlement Principle and the foundation for establishing equal access of library resources to distance learning students and is the guiding principle for\u00a0Southeastern Oklahoma State University\u2019s\u00a0Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library\u2019s Distance Education Library Services.<\/p>\n

The SE Library\u2019s Distance Education Library Services\u00a0facilitate remote access for SE students, faculty, administration, and staff\u00a0 to all electronic resources (databases\u00a0and e-books), Print materials (via\u00a0ILL\u00a0and\u00a0OK-SHARE), and library services needed for their academic success without regard to location or time.<\/p>\n

What can I access remotely?<\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0Library Catalog<\/a>, all of our\u00a0Electronic Resources\u00a0(Databases, e-resources),\u00a0Information Literacy Tutorials,\u00a0Interlibrary Loan\u00a0options,\u00a0Reference Help, and\u00a0Research Guides\u00a0<\/a>are our primary resources and services for remote users.<\/p>\n

How do I find books\/articles?<\/strong>\u00a0The search box on the\u00a0Library Homepage\u00a0is a good place to start or you can go directly to the library catalog for\u00a0books<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0Electronic Resources<\/a>\u00a0webpage for a list of our databases to find articles.<\/p>\n

What is OCLC Discovery Service?<\/strong> This is a search system on our home page that allows you access to a variety of search methods all in the same place. The following methods are provided:<\/p>\n

1) Everything search \u2013 will search to find resources in all formats available;<\/p>\n

2) Books \u2013 allows you to search for both print and Ebooks within the library collections;<\/p>\n

3) Articles – search will include print and digital articles;<\/p>\n

4) Databases \u2013 allows you to search individual databases;<\/p>\n

5) Journals A-Z \u2013 allows you to look for individual journal titles;<\/p>\n

6) Course Reserves will search for course materials held in the library for in-house use.<\/p>\n
