PI-STEM Academy 2022

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education provides Summer Academy funding for Oklahoma students to attend Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math learning experiences.  The PI-STEM Academy at Southeastern Oklahoma State University has been awarded a grant to provide a free STEM Academy for Oklahoma Students.  For more information, click HERE.

PI-STEM Academy Overview

Through water rocket and water balloon launching, calculating tree heights, exploring light & sound, water & soil testing, and more, the PI-STEM Summer Academy will engage students who will be in 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2022 in exploring, experimenting, and solving problems related to environmental, physical, and life sciences as well as a broad range of secondary mathematics topics.  To that end, students will use a variety of technological and other tools to explore, experiment, problem solve and communicate.  This free day-camp experience will be held from 9am-5pm from June 6-10 on Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Durant campus, and will include a data collection field trip and pool party.  Early drop-off and late pick-up will be provided as needed, and each participant will receive a TI-84 CE graphing calculator and a t-shirt.  The PI-STEM Academy is funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Application Process

Oklahoma Students are invited to apply for consideration beginning March 1, 2022.  Selection of student participants will begin April 1, 2022.  Students are encouraged to submit a digital application which will be available on the academy website soon. A printable version of the application will also be made available prior to March 1.
