Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed on Monday, January 26, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff with ongoing winter weather conditions. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.

The Art Department promotes respect for cultural diversity and aesthetic values through both general education and degree programs. Our faculty prepare students to understand artistic expression across cultures and history, while equipping majors with the knowledge and skills for careers in education, professional practice, or advanced study in the visual arts.

Our Art Studio program blends hands-on training in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and more with a strong foundation in art history and design. Housed in the Visual Arts Building and home to the Centre Art Gallery, the program prepares students for capstone exhibitions, professional practice, or graduate study.
