Courses in the arts encourage respect for cultural diversity and aesthetic values. In general education and degree program major and minor courses, the Art Department faculty recognizes the importance of preparing students to appreciate cultural and societal expression in the arts throughout history while preparing program major students for careers in professional fields of education or post-graduate study in the visual arts.
