Our students are in every region of the US and around the world. Resources will vary based on where you are, but we want to make you aware of some general resources and also, additionally, resources specific to major events that occur in our Oklahoma campus region. Not all resources will be available at a given time but access may be attempted to see if qualifies for assistance.

Immediate help is available for those affected by, or who may need additional assistance, after experiencing a natural or human-created disaster. The Disaster Distress Helpline is a toll-free, multilingual crisis support service available 24/7 via telephone (1-800-985-5990) and SMS (text “TalkWithUs” to 66746). The Disaster Distress Helpline is a federally funded resource provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration

Situation Updates from the severe weather event April 25-28 (includes locations of Red Cross shelters and other supports)
Marietta:
- Food and toiletries at the Marietta Primary Gym use the facebook page What’s happening Marietta?! to request deliveries of these supplies;
- SORTS transportation providing bus trips from 910 West Main, Marietta to Ardmore Wal-Mart for grocery shopping on 4/29. Check www.bigfive.org for updates on other future dates and services.
Ardmore:

How can I help?
American Red Cross: Monetary donations can be made by texting REDCROSS to 90999 or by visiting www.redcross.org/donate
- Donations taken in Sulphur at Murray County Expo, 3490 West Highway 7. Some items needed: leather gloves; tools to help remove debris; towels; wipes; rubbermade totes; cell phone chargers for all types and ages; large trash bags
- Donations in Carter County: Gravel parking lot south of Plainview Early Education Center (PEEC) @ 975 South Plainview Road, Ardmore, OK 73401; Drive-thru drop-off location (do not get out of vehicle); Open daily 9am-2:30pm and 4pm-8pm until the need is satisfied. Donations requested: drinking water; sealed and pre-packaged snack items (crackers, chips, etc); cleaning supplies; work gloves; hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc); flashlights; flashlight batteries; tarps; yard/contractor grade trash bags
