The Office of University Communications promotes Southeastern Oklahoma State University through news releases and publications, while assisting with the needs and requests of the news media. An emphasis is placed on communicating the many accomplishments and achievements of the University and its students, faculty and staff. Much of this information originates from information provided by faculty and staff. It is the responsibility of the Office of University Communications to develop that information into a news release format that is consistent with the Associated Press news writing style and university procedure.
Our staff will assist departments and individuals desiring news coverage in advance of any activity or event; however, complete information must be received at least 10 working days prior to the scheduled activity or event. Please note that the publication of any news release is up to the discretion of the newspaper editor, not the university. The editor decides if and when, to publish the release.
The Office has photographic facilities and provides photographs of university events and news upon request.
The Communications Office serves as the liaison between the University and news media. All media inquiries should be directed to Blake Allen, Director of University Marketing.
