If you are having trouble logging in to your student email or other SE web resources, please clear your browser cache and restart the browser, use an incognito/private window, or select “Use Another Account” on the login screen and re-enter your credentials. These steps should restore access on your device.

Educational Instruction & Leadership

The Department of Educational Instruction and Leadership provides undergraduate education courses that lead to teacher certification in a number of areas spanning PK-12 education.  The Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education are housed exclusively in our department.  The undergraduate special education program is not currently accepting applications. Programs leading to certification in art, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Health and Physical Education, and History, are also offered.

Three graduate programs are offered by our department. The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction currently offers advanced coursework in 9 emphasis areas: educational technology, English, English as a Second Language, generalist, mathematics, music, reading, science, and Theatre Pedagogy. The Master of Education in Educational Leadership offers an academic track, a professional track leading to principal certification, and a program leading to superintendent certification. The Department of Educational Instruction and Leadership is currently experiencing growth in the number of students it serves as course offerings are increased at Southeastern’s Extension Campuses at the University Center of Southern Oklahoma in Ardmore, Grayson County College (Denison, Texas), Eastern Oklahoma State College McAlester Campus, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University McCurtain County Campus (Idabel, OK).
