Basic Skills Courses

The Learning Center offers basic skills classes in both math and reading to help students review or brush up on their skills.

Courses Offered

Math 0114 Elementary Algebra

A course for students with little or no previous algebra background. Topics include arithmetic review, real number operations, linear equations and inequalities, polynomial operations, rational expressions, and square roots. (No college credit.)

This math class meets every day at your scheduled time. Due to the nature of the course, attendance is necessary in order to obtain a passing grade. Please note that attendance will be taken every day.

There will be problems assigned as homework problems. These problems are assigned to help you better understand the material that is covered during lecture and help you prepare for tests.

We are here to help and assist you, but you must let us know your needs.

Math 0123 Intermediate Algebra

A course for students who need to review algebra skills. Topics include real number operations, linear equations and inequalities, polynomial operations, rational expressions, and radical expressions. (No college credit.)

This math class meets either M, W, F or T, Th at your scheduled time. Due to the nature of the course, attendance is necessary in order to obtain a passing grade. Attendance is taken every day.

There will be problems assigned as homework problems. These problems are assigned to help you better understand the material that is covered during lecture and help you prepare for tests.
