With continued poor travel conditions and cold temperatures, Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed through Friday, January 30, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.

Hallie McKinney holds a special place in the hearts of Southeastern Alumni as both a residence hall and the location for many years to University dining services and extra curricular activities. The lobby of the building for many years served as the University post office. The post office was the main connection between students and their families during their time at Southeastern. As the postal facility is now obsolete as a space on campus, it is time for the mailboxes to serve a new purpose as a symbol for alumni as their forever connection to the Gold and Blue, in support of current and future students.

The Legacy Box signifies the ultimate giving level to the Legacy Fund as a 1909 Founder level donor. With a one-time gift of $1,500, 1909 Founders will receive an original Hallie McKinney post office door, in working condition, mounted to a Legacy Box as shown below. This heirloom is both a reminder of your time as a student at Southeastern and a symbol of the future success of the University.
The Legacy Box serves as a conversational piece to share your Southeastern Legacy with others, and as a simple reminder of your affinity to your University through your ongoing support of current and future Southeastern students, faculty and staff.
