Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is a TRIO program fully funded by a federal grant through the U.S. Department of Education. Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s SSS program is one of over 1200 programs across the country.

SSS helps eligible students successfully complete their post-secondary education by providing a foundation for overcoming academic, personal, and cultural barriers to higher education. By fostering a highly personalized (one-on-one) environment, SSS staff strives to build professional and personal relationships with students to carefully assess their individual needs and to offer appropriate academic, personal, and career support.

Who is Eligible
Undergraduate student who is a U.S. citizen and qualify with at least one of the following:

  • First-Generation college student (parents did not obtain a four-year degree)
  • Financial Need (financial verification is required)
  • Disability (documentation through Office of Disabilities or Vocational Rehabilitation)
    • In addition, the applicant must show an academic need.

Student Support Services for K-12 Teacher Preparation (SSS: Teach) is 100% funded by a federal grant through the U. S. Department of Education in the amount of $272,364 annually.
