Programs Typically Leading to Certification

* Many states participate in reciprocity allowing graduates in degree programs to transfer their Oklahoma license to their home state. Graduates of the Educational Leadership and School Counseling programs will be eligible to take the Oklahoma State Teacher Certification Test. To obtain certification, candidates must successfully pass the Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) in School Counseling, Principalship, and/or Superintendent that is administered nationwide at any Pearson Vue Testing Center.

This information is based on our research verification and current understanding of reciprocity for students who reside in Kansas. The information has been verified by the respective program coordinator and NC SARA staff as of the date indicated below. We encourage all students to independently confirm our findings to ensure that our program’s coursework aligns with the specific state’s certification requirement to meet licensure goals.

For your convenience, you may visit Kansas State Department of Education to obtain more information concerning licensure within the state of Kansas. Further, you may access information about the out-of-state for Kansas reciprocity agreement here. For further assistance, please contact Certification Officer Jennifer Arnold (jarnold@se.edu), School Counseling Coordinator Dr. Kathy McDonald (kmcdonald@se.edu), or Educational Leadership Coordinator Dr. Jerry Stout (jstout@se.edu).
