Dean’s Welcome

Welcome to the John Massey School of Business. In the spirit of our namesake, one of Oklahoma’s legendary entrepreneurs and bankers, John Massey, we invite you to be a part of one of Oklahoma’s and Texoma’s leading business schools founded to inspire, empower, and transform the lives of our students.

The John Massey School of Business (JMSB) has three major Divisions: the Business Division, which includes two academic departments and its graduate programs, the Aviation Sciences Institute with two academic departments and a graduate program, and the Occupational Safety and Health and its graduate program. The JMSB accounts for three of the five largest academic programs at Southeastern: General Business, Aviation, and Occupational Safety and Health, and the MBA is the University’s most sought graduate degree.

Our Business Division is accredited through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier accreditation for business schools. Aviation is accredited through the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), and Occupational Safety and Health is certified by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

Our faculty are at the ready to serve and prepare you to achieve your full potential. You will find your time well spent studying at Southeastern and being mentored by faculty members with rich backgrounds. No graduate assistantships are in the classrooms here.

Since our first business courses in commerce, accounting, and administration were introduced in 1918 to the addition of Aviation and Occupational Safety and Health, through today’s nationally recognized scholars and programs, you will discover your own career calling in the John Massey School of Business.

We look forward to meeting you,

David W. Whitlock, PhD
Interim Dean, John Massey School of Business
