DURANT, Okla. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Freshman Convocation will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Morrison Hall's Montgomery Auditorium as part of "Move-In Day."

The Convocation is the official welcoming ceremony for all new freshmen and their families. A free cookout on the front lawn is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. for all freshmen, their families and guests.

"The decision to make the sacrifices required to pursue an advanced degree is one of the most significant ones a person can make," said Tim Boatmun, Associate Dean of Academic Services at Southeastern. "The purpose of Freshman Convocation is to celebrate that decision and welcome students and their families into the Southeastern community."

Classes for the fall semester begin Monday, Aug. 18.
