Southeastern to host Texoma College Fair Oct. 28

DURANT, Okla. – High school seniors and juniors are invited to visit with more than 30 college and university representatives from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas at the Texoma Area College Fair (TACF).

Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host the TACF from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in Bloomer Sullivan Arena. The annual event is sponsored by the Oklahoma College Day/Night Coordination Committee and is an official Oklahoma college fair.

More than 400 students attended the college fair last year to learn about opportunities in higher education. Students and parents may browse the university and college booths and ask questions of the various representatives. Students may also attend workshops including:

  • 9 a.m. – Making the Transition from High School to College
  • 9:30 a.m. – Native American Benefits
  • 10 a.m. – UcanGo2 – Preparing and paying for College

Colleges, universities and other representatives confirmed to attend include:

  • Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Austin (Texas) College, Cameron University, Carl Albert State College, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Connors State College, Cottey (Mo.) College, Oklahoma City University, Southwestern Christian University, Eastern Oklahoma State College.
  • Also, East Central University, Mid-America Christian University, Murray State College, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Northeastern State University, Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program, Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma State University-Institute of Technology.
  • Also, Pittsburg (Kan.) State University, Southern Nazarene University, St. Gregory’s University, Tulsa Welding School, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, University of Central Oklahoma, University of North Texas, University of Oklahoma ,and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
