Theatre: Imagine Action Underclassmen Event

The Imagine Action underclassmen event is an interactive theatre day designed to give students exposure to and engagement with the theatre arts. Led by Theatre at Southeastern faculty, staff, and students majoring in Technical Theatre and Design, Integrated Studies of Performance, and/or Arts Management.

Please see workshop details below: 

Check-in will begin at the Visual and Performing Arts Center, 1614 N. 1st Ave., Durant, OK 74701, at 8:45am.

Bus parking, as well as smaller vehicles, will park in the north lot of the VPAC for the event.

9:00am Welcome & explanation of the day

9:30am- Students will attend one of the three choices for workshops:

  • Improv! Acting Workshop

  • Shapeshifters: Design by Repurposing & Upcycling Technical Theatre Workshop in Costuming

  • Musical Theatre Dance Musical Theatre Movement Workshop

  • Get a professional headshot taken!* Recommend students wear a solid shirt, avoiding light colors, as darker color shirts photograph best. Single headshot only. 

10:30am- Students will attend one of the three choices for workshops:

  • Building a Character Acting Workshop

  • Shapeshifters: Design by Repurposing & Upcycling Technical Theatre Workshop in Costuming

  • Musical Theatre Dance Musical Theatre Movement Workshop

  • Get a professional headshot taken!* Recommend students wear a solid shirt, avoiding light colors, as darker color shirts photograph best. Single headshot only.

11:30am- Students will attend one of the three choices for workshops:

  • Building a Character Acting Workshop

  • Improv! Acting Workshop

  • Musical Theatre Acting the Song Musical Theatre Audition Workshop

  • Get a professional headshot taken!* Recommend students wear a solid shirt, avoiding light colors, as darker color shirts photograph best. Single headshot only.

Workshops conclude at 12:15pm.

Remember to: 

  1. Print liability forms (attached) for each student and bring signed copies to the event.
