DURANT, Okla. – Although classes were not in session Monday at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in observance of Martin Luther King. Jr. Day, students were far from idle.
Some 150 students, faculty and staff representing 22 student organizations and seven University offices volunteered their time and efforts to participate in a day of service both on campus and in the community. Among the projects were 9th Street clean-up, visiting with residents in an assisted living facility, working with a local ministry to paint and clean rooms, and campus beautification.
Sponsored by the Office of Student Life, this is the 25th year the University has participated in the MLK Day of Service.
