- Southeastern announces new automatic Tuition Waiver Scholarship program for Oklahoma residents with associate degrees
Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed through Wednesday, January 28, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff with continuing winter weather conditions. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University has announced it will award an automatic Associate Tuition Waiver Scholarship of $1,000 per semester to students who hold an Associate of Arts or Science degree.
To be eligible for the scholarship (which is renewable for four semesters for a total of $4,000) starting in Fall 2020, students must be Oklahoma residents, first time Southeastern students, have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.0, and submit a scholarship application by July 1, 2020.
To maintain eligibility, students must complete 12 hours per semester with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
“We are excited to be offering this opportunity,’’ said Southeastern president Thomas Newsom. “During the pandemic, we are doing everything possible to assist students as they continue to work to achieve their educational goals.’’
