Southeastern announces new “Loop of Lights’’ holiday tradition

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University is inviting everyone to a new holiday tradition this year – the “Loop of Lights.’’

Lights and decorations will be displayed around the campus loop from December 1-31, 6-10 p.m.

Freshmen track athletes Jessie Sanchez (Stillwell, Oklahoma) and Sammy Wallis (Pottsboro, Texas) display lawn decorations from the Southeastern cross country and track teams.

On Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, from 6-9, the Storm Chaser One van will be on the loop playing Christmas songs and President Thomas Newsom and his wife will be on the front porch of the Magnolia House waving as visitors drive by. Also making an appearance with the Newsoms will be Santa Claus.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event is a drive-thru holiday event only and guest are asked to remain in their vehicles.
