- Southeastern offers free Summer STEM Academy for 8th and 9th grade students
DURANT, Okla. – The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education provides funding for Oklahoma students to attend summer academies in such areas as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The regents have awarded a grant to Southeastern Oklahoma State University this summer for a free PI-STEM Academy.
Through water rocket and balloon launching, environmental modeling, and more, the PI-STEM Summer Academy will engage students who will be 8th or 9th grade students in the fall of 2021 in exploring, experimenting, and problem-solving related to environmental, physical, and life sciences, as well as mathematics traversing the secondary spectrum.
Accordingly, students will use a variety of technological and other tools to explore, experiment and communicate. This free day camp experience will be held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from July 19–23 on Southeastern’s Durant campus, and will include a data collection field trip and pool party.
