- Fall classes begin August 16 at Southeastern
With continued poor travel conditions and cold temperatures, Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed through Friday, January 30, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University is looking forward to the beginning of fall classes on August 16.
Southeastern will offer a normal schedule of in-person classes in the fall. Also returning will be student activities and athletic events, which, for the most part, were cancelled or altered last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation very closely this fall,’’ Newsom said. “The safety and health of our campus community is always our top priority. With that being said, an important component of the college experience is the interaction students have not only in the classroom, but in activities and events. We look forward to returning to a full schedule of events this fall, with the understanding that if circumstances change, we can take appropriate measures.’’
While Southeastern does not require masks, it is a mask-friendly campus for those persons who feel more comfortable wearing one.
