The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on January 17, 2022, is the 27th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and bridges barriers, moving us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”
Southeastern will host several different service projects throughout the week for students, faculty, and staff to volunteer on campus and/or in the community.
Tuesday, January 18, 2022
9:30 AM – Hands of Hope Food Bank: unpacking food, packing bags, stocking shelves, etc.
1:00 PM – SE Labyrinth Beautification: building a flower bed, yard work, and prepping areas for upcoming projects.
Wednesday, January 19, 2022
10:00 AM – Durant Main Street Business Support: take photos with your phone of the outside and inside of different shops of Main Street for Durant Main Street to use to help promote downtown businesses.
1:00 PM – SE Equestrian Center Clean Up: trash pickup, organize/cleaning, etc.
Thursday, January 20, 2022
9:30 AM – Hands of Hope Food Bank: unpacking food, packing bags, stocking shelves, etc.
4:00 PM – Bryan County Fairgrounds: shoveling, parking lot pickup, beautification, etc.
Friday, January 21, 2022
