Southeastern’s Davis included in Journal Record’s Class of Achievers under 40

March 9, 2022

The Journal Record (Oklahoma City) has announced its 19th class of Achievers Under 40.

Among this year’s 45 honorees is Dr. Michael Davis, assistant professor of criminal justice and special assistant to the president for compliance at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Licensed as an attorney, Davis attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law and received his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from the University of the Cumberlands, in Williamsburg, KY. He is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and as an associate member of the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners. A specialist in civil rights, equity, and employment law, he has served as the Title IX coordinator for the University since 2016. He also serves the community on the Durant Industrial Authority and the Durant Rotary Club.

The award recipients will be recognized at an evening celebration on Thursday, May 12, at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

A special magazine featuring profiles of each honoree will be inserted in The Journal Record on May 13.

“In addition to professional success, the Achievers Under 40 program honors civic engagement and good works in our Oklahoma communities,” said Joe Dowd, editor of The Journal Record. “The 19th class of honorees has made service a priority and has shined during challenging times.”
