- Southeastern celebrates Summer Commencement
Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed through Wednesday, January 28, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff with continuing winter weather conditions. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University celebrated summer commencement over the weekend.
Two ceremonies were held in Bloomer Sullivan Arena – on Friday night, master’s degrees were awarded, while on Saturday morning, bachelor’s degrees were conferred. Congratulating the graduates were Southeastern president Thomas Newsom, Regent Ann Holloway of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and Regent Connie Reilly, chair of the Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents.
The graduating class included individuals representing 38 states and 11 countries. Fifty-six percent of the graduates are first-generation college graduates.
