Southeastern president Thomas Newsom congratulates Sue Haywood as the first recipient of the “SE Unsung Hero’’ award. The newly-created award is presented by the Staff Senate to an SE staff member who goes above and beyond the call of duty and who may work behind the scenes, but still makes a huge impact within the campus community. As Special Events Coordinator, Sue meticulously works events for all departments on campus, external groups, and events the university co-sponsors. She came to SE after 19 years with the Pillsbury Company, and holds a drafting degree from Grayson College. Sue has served the University for 18 years.
