Safety Olympics and Career Fair to be held at Southeastern on Feb. 29-Mar. 1

February 23, 2024

Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host the annual Safety Olympics and Safety Career Fair on the Durant campus on Thursday, February 29 and Friday, March 1.

The Safety Olympics challenges the knowledge and skills of top safety college students by placing them in multiple safety events over a two-day period.

This event is particularly important to Southeastern, as the Occupational Health and Safety major is one of the majors with the highest enrollment, sending qualified professionals into a high-demand profession in the state of Oklahoma and the region.

This year’s edition of the Safety Olympics will see six teams competing:

  • Southeastern Oklahoma State
  • Collin College (Collin County, Texas)
  • College of the Mainland (Texas City, Texas)
  • Montana Technical University (Butte, Mont.)
  • Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Kans.)
  • University of Central Missouri (Warrensburg, Mo.)

The teams will compete in six events: Accident Investigation, Hazard Identification, Training Presentation, Safety Culture Presentation, Safety Innovation Presentation, and Safety Jeopardy.

The event’s website at www.SE.edu/safetyolympics has the full schedule of events and competitions, as well as information on the Thursday career fair.
