- Southeastern Student Government Association installs 2024-25 officers and senators, honors award winners at annual banquet
The 103rd Legislature of the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Student Government Association (SGA) celebrated its annual banquet recently, concluding with the installation of new officers and senators for the 2024-25 academic year.
Outgoing President Ryker Baughman, a graduating senior and political science major from Talihina, gave his final address sharing the Senate’s accomplishments of note including recognition of 39 student organizations, approximately $11,500 invested in student organization travel and start-up, 25 bills passed, and 50 resolutions passed.
Comments were offered by outgoing Vice President Addison McCortney, a junior mathematics major from Ada, and Secretary Katherine Hodge, a senior mathematics education major from Denison, Texas.
Senator Tatiana Beach, graduating aviation-professional pilot major from Highland Village, Texas, recognized the Baptist Collegiate Ministries as the Organization of the Year. This award celebrates and recognizes an organization committed to providing opportunities for involvement and participation on campus.

Highlights from the 2023-24 session included funding organizations for organizational related travel, funding student organizations for start-up expenses, successful hosting of Homecoming 2023 and Springfest 2024, representing Southeastern during Oklahoma Higher Education Day at the State Capitol, the Oklahoma Student Leadership Retreat, and the Spring Congress of the Oklahoma Student Government Association.
The 2024-25 Executive Team Members were sworn in, with Addison McCortney, a senior math education major from Ada, sworn in as President and Calia Walker, a junior political science major from Caddo, sworn in as Secretary.
