- SE to host 110th Annual Curriculum Contest on Wednesday
With continued poor travel conditions and cold temperatures, Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be closed through Friday, January 30, in the interest of health and safety of students, faculty, and staff. Essential services will be provided to residential students on campus, but other academic and business functions will be closed. Online and remote learning classes will proceed as scheduled. This closure applies to the Durant and McCurtain County campuses. Other satellite facilities will follow local guidance.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host the 110th Annual Oklahoma Inter-High School Curriculum Meet on its Durant campus on Wednesday, March 26.
Over 1,900 students in grade 9-12 from over 70 area high schools are currently registered to compete in 29 different subject areas: art (figure drawing), accounting, general business, personal finance, computer concepts, integrated productivity software, English, algebra, calculus, plane geometry, trigonometry, Spanish, music fundamentals, music literature, general safety, psychology, anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, conservation, earth and space science, physical science, physics, economics, geography, government and politics, Oklahoma history, U.S. history, and world history.
This event dates back to 1910, when it was first held and known as the Southeastern High School Track Meet.
