- Southeastern Opera to present “Susannah” on November 6
The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Department of Performing Arts will present Susannah by Carlisle Floyd on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Montgomery Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
Written in two acts and sung in English, Susannah is one of the most enduring and frequently performed American operas. Known for its lyrical beauty and dramatic power, the work explores themes of innocence and judgment.
“This production offers our students a meaningful opportunity to explore the rich interplay of music and drama that lies at the heart of Susannah,” said Dr. Stella Yoon, Artistic Director and assistant professor of applied voice at Southeastern. “This opera allows our vocalists to express the deep depth of human emotion while drawing the audience into its hauntingly beautiful and deeply moving story.”
There will be a 15-minute intermission between the acts.
The cast of Susannah features: Haylie Kreitz (Durant), Ryan Carlile (Wilson), Joseph Bowen (Denton, Texas), Javier Rodrigo (Sherman, Texas), Averie Attaway (Sherman, Texas), Tevan Collins (Sherman, Texas), Riley Wilhite (Madill), Mauricio Salazar (Idabel), Hannah Hollander (Lone Grove), Ace Austin (Marietta), Colours Starsick (Marietta), Zane Barta (Little Elm, Texas), and Jaygen Guilbeau (Durant).
