Theatre at Southeastern Oklahoma State University will present Peter and the Starcatcher on November 13, 14, and 15 in the Visual and Performing Arts Center. The show will begin at 7 p.m. each night, with tickets available at the door or at www.SE.edu/VPAC.
A prequel to Peter Pan, the play Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and tells the origin story of one of literature’s most beloved characters, Peter Pan. With a cast of 17 actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, the play uses imaginative staging, humor, and heart to explore how an orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan.
Winner of five Tony Awards, Peter and the Starcatcher is a fast-paced, family-friendly adventure filled with pirates, mermaids, shipwrecks, and magical “starstuff.”
“This production celebrates the creativity and collaboration that theatre inspires,” said Ruby Quinn, director of the production. “It’s a joyful, high-energy story that invites audiences to rediscover the magic of imagination.” Cast members are Zahira Asencio-Rivera,Emma Burkhart, Zash Cardoza, Centra Carter, Audrey Dorn, Taler Eggenberg, Millie Henry, Max Hightower, Hannah Huie, Eden Lee, Keyshawn Leffall, Jake McWilliams, Jolie McWilliams, Cru Nolan, Will Pope, Kenneth St. Clair, and Mya Teran.
