SE Office of Student Life organizes Week of Service in honor of MLK, Jr. Holiday

January 13, 2026

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Office of Student Life will help the campus celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by facilitating opportunities for Southeastern students, faculty, and staff to serve the Durant community from January 20-23.

Each day of the Week of Service offers multiple ways to serve the local community including assisting the Boys & Girls Club, helping Hands of Hope with its operation, improving campus beautification in the Occupational Safety and Health building, and learning how to support fellow students in mental health areas.

The life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. has inspired countless movements across the country to celebrate the holiday in his honor by organizing service opportunities. Southeastern’s Week of Service is designed to have the Savage Storm family in various areas of the community to make a true impact.

For ways you or your organization can get involved with Southeastern’s Week of Service activities, please call the Office of Student Life at (580) 745-2266 or click here.
