Southeastern announces Dr. Jeremy Blackwood, Chad Harp to leadership appointments

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University has named Dr. Jeremy Blackwood and Chad Harp to key leadership positions. 

Blackwood has been promoted to associate vice president for academic affairs and special assistant to the president for strategic planning. Harp has been named assistant vice president for development and special assistant to the president for tribal relations. 

The appointments became effective Aug. 1. 

Blackwood will provide executive leadership for academic affairs related to academic program development, accreditation, assessment, compliance, enrollment growth and student success across undergraduate and graduate education. Blackwood previously served as dean of graduate studies and associate professor of voice. 

As special assistant to the president for strategic planning, Blackwood will provide direct support to the president in coordinating, implementing and assessing the university’s strategic plan. This role will serve as a key liaison among the President’s Office, the University Planning Advisory Committee and the broader campus community. 

Harp will expand Southeastern’s fundraising efforts by building strong relationships with donors, securing major gifts and creating partnerships that support the university’s goals. His work will create new opportunities and resources that benefit students, faculty and academic programs. 

Harp previously served as executive director of tribal relations and special assistant to the president for special projects and planning.
