- Southeastern announces David Houser as new chief of police
DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce the hiring of alumnus David Houser as the university’s new chief of police.
Houser will lead the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Police Department and oversee campus law enforcement and public safety efforts. As a Southeastern alumnus, Houser returns to the university with professional law enforcement experience and a personal connection to the institution and the community it serves.
“We are excited to welcome David back to Southeastern as our new chief of police,” said Dr. Brad Ludrick, vice president for Student Development. “David brings valuable law enforcement leadership and experience to this position, along with the unique perspective of being a Southeastern alumnus. We look forward to having him lead our Police Department and continue our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our students, employees and visitors.”
Houser’s appointment reflects Southeastern’s continued commitment to campus safety, community engagement and strong partnerships with local and regional law enforcement agencies.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to return to Southeastern and serve the University as chief of police,” Houser said. “Southeastern has played an important role in my life, and I look forward to working with our officers, students, faculty, staff and community partners to help maintain a safe and supportive campus.”
Houser will begin his duties as chief of police on Nov. 1.
