- Faculty Feature continues Nov. 9 with Amy Gantt and Patricia Hornback
Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host a Faculty Feature event highlighting Chapter 7 of Ancestors-in-Training as Indigenous Leaders in Higher Education: Honoring Our Legacy, featuring faculty members Amy Gantt and Patricia Hornback.
The Faculty Feature event series, hosted by the Department of Academic Affairs, is designed to give Southeastern faculty members an opportunity to showcase their publications to a wider audience. The event will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, in the Native American Commons in the Henry G. Bennett Library. Gantt and Hornback will give a brief presentation about the publication, and refreshments will be served.
The chapter, titled “Developing Native American Leaders: A Discussion of the Master’s in Native Leadership at Southeastern Oklahoma State University,” explores Southeastern’s role in developing Native American leaders through higher education.
The book, edited by Robin Zape-tah-hol-ah Minthorn, Tiffany D. Smith and Theresa J. Ambo, brings together perspectives from Indigenous leaders in higher education and examines ways institutions can foster belonging, support Indigenous students and professionals, and incorporate Indigenous knowledge and leadership traditions.
The book is published by Routledge and is available for purchase through Routledge, Amazon and other online booksellers.
