Biography

Dr. Austin Crumrine is a freelance tubist and bassist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. He is the Adjunct Instructor of Tuba at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, principal tubist of the Toccare Winds, and maintains a large private lesson studio of middle school and high school students in Frisco and McKinney, TX.

Dr. Crumrine has performed solo recitals and taught masterclasses at universities across the country including the University of Iowa, the University of Akron (OH), and Stephen F. Austin State University. He has been a semifinalist and finalist in auditions for the U.S. Air Force premier bands. In 2019, he earned 3rd prize for the Rich Matteson Jazz Tuba Competition at the International Tuba Euphonium Conference. He played sousaphone, upright bass, and electric bass for the 2015 Disneyland All-American College Band.
In addition to his career as a tubist, Dr. Crumrine is an avid electric and upright bass player and plays for corporate events and weddings with Intensity Bands.

Dr. Crumrine holds tuba performance degrees from the University of North Texas (BM), Baylor University (MM), and the Ohio State University (DMA).
