The season begins with a new drama “Suffrage” based on the centennial of the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. “Suffrage” looks at the broad topic of voter rights through the eyes of an Oklahoma movement leader Aloysius Larch-Miller, who gave her very life to ensure that the Oklahoma legislature voted to ratify the important amendment.
A filmed theatrical event titled “Suffrage” will launch on the Southeastern Theatre Facebook and YouTube pages on October 9. More information can be found at www.se.edu/act/theatre-season-schedule/.
